I rarely leave reviews but wanted to highlight the fantastic service we received from Aberdeen Veterinary Referrals. Our elderly dog was referred by our vet at 4pm and was seen the next day at 10am by AVR. The initial contact phone call from Bethany, offering us an appointment and put us at ease. She was polite, reassuring and efficient in arranging our next day appointment. She offered us several slots and was flexible around our needs. She ensured we knew where the practice was situated. On appointment day, we were greeted by Bethany who again put us at ease. We arrived early but were seen quickly by Jan. I cannot praise Jan highly enough. He conducted the appointment in a caring manner. He was gentle and respectful towards our elderly dog and kept her calm at all times. His observations and examinations were faultless and thorough. He spent time explaining treatment options to us in great detail but using terms that were understandable. He explained risks and benefits and ensured we understood, with ample time to ask questions. Our pet is very elderly and our options are very limited but Jan handled this situation gently and compassionately. Jan truly delivered a quality, professional experience. We left the Practice armed with good information and advice and with the reassurance that we are doing everything possible for our much loved pet. Thank you AVR for your kindness, compassion and professionalism. Highly recommend.

Aberdeen Vet Referrals were absolutely amazing with our dog when she had to have a cruciate ligament operation. They genuinely care about your pet and we didn't just feel like a "number". Katrine took time to explain the procedure in full and the aftercare required - we left Luna in safe hands and she really put our mind at rest. We collected Luna the next day and another vet (Ellie I think) once again took time to go over the rehab procedure and all the physio/meds required. The reception/admin staff were also so helpful and friendly which I think helps to calm you from the start. I can't thank AVR enough for taking care of our Luna girl and fixing her xx

Fully recommend them, everyone was very polite and helpful especially the surgeon Cristina. Our dog was looked after well while she was there and the follow up with results was fast and informative.

I can highly recommend AVR where my mini daxi Denzel had a successful spinal operation. He especially loved his sleepovers where his recovery was monitored, also as he had a birthday the staff went the extra mile to throw him a "party for one". I feel you have given me additional years with him and for that I can't thank you enough. It says something when you've got a dog who doesn't want to leave the vet to return home!!🐾🧡

I cannot speak highly enough of the outstanding care my beloved pooch has received at AVR Kingswells. From the moment we stepped through the door, we were met with compassion, professionalism, and a genuine love for animals that radiates through every member of the staff. A special thank you to Jan the oncology vet, whose expertise and empathy have been nothing short of extraordinary. Facing a cancer diagnosis in a pet is heartbreaking, but the way he explained every step with clarity, patience, and warmth made an overwhelming time feel manageable. They’ve treated our dog like one of their own and that means the world to me. If you’re looking for a veterinary practice where compassion meets excellence, this is it. A huge thank you to all the staff and especially Monica our vet who has being treating my dog Holly who is 11.5 with a torn cruciate.
